Where have all the good times gone?Score: 110January 31, 2010 11:15 am
Seems that I'm the only one here, so I'll just go ahead and post one for myself. Kinda get it off my chest if you will. I like the way that Boylen's Utes "battle". That seems to be the coaches favorite word lately. I've got a better word. WIN. Or a few other words that I like too. Planning. Execution. Identity. I sure hated the way they set up and executed against BYU. The Utes have no defensive discipline. Toughness they have. Discipline they do not. And worse yet, they play offense like a school yard game. No consistency. No identity. I've got an idea. How about making at least one run into the paint before taking a shot? Or how about giving the cutters a little space? Or making a cut for that matter. Or how about getting rebounders in place before kicking out for the three? Winning is a great word. But winning takes more than toughness. It takes game planning and execution. And most importantly, it takes identity. Know who you want to be and be it. Category: NCAAB Tags: Utah Utes

We're not dead yet. That was a good good win. The Utes held a slim lead most of the game. And most importantly, the Utes held the lead with 5 min to go and did not fade. The Rebels put on a good charge, even taking back the lead at times, but the Utes played strong. Great night by Foster. Solid play by Durca, Brown, Henderson, Tillie, Washburn, Tavita. Everyone. No glaring weak spots. I loved it. Category: NCAAB Come On!Score: 108December 26, 2009 12:36 pm
Coach Jimbo... You gotta start winning the games that you're supposed to win. I appreciate the improved schedule, the attempts to improve energy and excitement in The Huntsman, your enthausiasm, and that you've made "UTAH" across the chest mean something again. But you gotta start winning in a consistent manner. The tougher schedule has been awesome. And you still surprise me by winning some of those games. Perfect! Take on the big boys, and occasionally beat them when you're not suppose to. You're doing that part well. But you gotta find a way to stop losing the games that you're supposed to win. Oh yeah... and how about benching players when they start taking shots that are out of sync with the rest of the offense. How many attempts is they allowed with 25 seconds on the shot clock and with no rebounders in position? Category: NCAAB Tags: Utah Utes
